Alphonsa Matriculation Higher Secondary School is a co-educational institution started in 1990. The School is named after Saint Alphonsa who led a saintly life and she was canonized on 12th october 2008. The school is run by the Syro Malabar Catholic Diocese of Thuckalay. Bishop Mar George Alencherry is the Manager and the Parish priest of St Alphonsa Church, Nagercoil Rev. Fr. Thomas Powathuparambil is the Correspondent. It is situated in the southern part of Nagercoil town on the A.R.P Camp Road. This school is recognized by the Govt. of Tamilnadu and follows the Matriculation syllabus. The teaching faculty is led by the sisters of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation.  At present, the school has classes from kindergarden to STD XII.
